ADI currently provides a low voltage permanent magnet sychronous motor (PMSM) controller platform that is designed to enable evaluation of ADI signal chain components and motor control processors. This platform consists of
- A 24V input, 30W 3-phase inverter with signal conditioning circuitry for current and encoder feedback, overcurrent protection and processor interface
- A 3-phase permanent magnet motor with Hall sensor and digital encoder feedback
Isolated motor phase current feedback is implemented via series shunt resistors in combination with isolated sigma-delta modulators (AD7403) or difference amplifiers. The platform is designed to connect directly to the ADSP-CM408 EZKit (orderable seperately here). These current feedback signals are routed to the ADSP-CM408 SINC3 digital filters and 16-bit SAR ADC.
This platform is currently available for purchase from ADI (part number EV-MCS-LVDRV-Z). It is also available for purchase with additional solution software and support options.through our motor control third party partner, Boston Engineering.
A board-only version is also available for order as part number EV-MCS-LVBRD-Z. This does not include the motor, cables, or power supply.
