Dear ADI Support,
I just started evaluating the TMC2240 Eval Kit. I am looking for a way to change the default "Maximum Velocity" setting. By default it is set to 150000, the maximal possible setting is 8300096.
Thanks in advance and best Regards.

Hi,
the TMC2240 uses a software based pulse generator to step the motor. It cannot work with more than roughly 130000 Hz. To increase motor velocity, please first stop pulses, set MRES=4 (16 microsteps) and work with microstep interpolation. Now, a setting of 3200 already brings 1 RPS motor velocity.
Dear Bernhard,
thank you for your reply. That makes sense and I was able to verify it on the eval kit.
Best Regards.
