Firmware

Category: Software
Product Number: TMCM-1290

The TMCM-1290 can have the firmware updated via the i2c bus.

"As with most TRINAMIC modules, the software running on the microprocessor of the TMCM-1290 consists of two parts: a bootloader and the firmware itself. Whereas the boot loader is installed during production and testing at TRINAMIC and remains untouched throughout the whole lifetime, the firmware can be updated. Download new versions free of charge from the ADI Trinamic software and tools website." (That link fails)

Where is that firmware located? I've had a good search.

I hope we would not need to update, but I am putting in the provision in my product to do so in case of unexpected behaviour/bug.

I have found a reference for the TMC-6110:

"The software running on the microprocessor of the TMCM-6110 consists of two parts, a boot loader and the firmware itself. Whereas the boot loader is installed during production and testing at TRINAMIC and remains untouched throughout the whole lifetime, the firmware can be updated by the user. New versions can be downloaded free of charge from the TRINAMIC website (">www.trinamic.com)."

but can't find that software either.

How likely is it to be updated?
