End of life ADUCM355

Thread Summary

The user is experiencing issues compiling ADuCM355 examples with Keil µVision's Arm Compiler 6, as the examples are designed for Arm Compiler 5. The free version of Keil now uses Arm Compiler 6, while Arm Compiler 5 is only available with a licensed MDK-Professional edition. AD suggests using the free version of IAR Embedded Workbench to compile the examples, as they remain compatible.

Product Number: ADUCM355

I believe this product is nearing it end of life because there is no support from AD regarding the exemples and libraries.

They are supposed to work with ArmCompiler 5 and MDK 5 as recommended in the devkit guide but it is a nightmare to make it work becaus the Keil µVision is now with Compiler 6.

The exemples do not compile with Compiler  6 and not update is provided by AD.

  • Hi Covarians,

    Arm Compiler 5 Support
Arm Compiler 5 is still supported in Keil MDK; however, it requires an MDK-Professional edition license and manual installation. We are currently evaluating whether example code will continue to be supported in Keil moving forward.

    ADuCM355 Examples
The ADuCM355 example projects remain compatible with IAR Embedded Workbench and can still be built successfully. Please refer to the IAR folder for these examples.

  • Please understand that when you want to evaluate and do a test project with the AduCM355 you do not want to buy a 5k$ licence rigth away.
The free test version of keil only compiles with Arm Compiler 6.

One suggestion : Ask your top marketing guys to get the ADUCM eval board and follow the eval user guide... they should understand what I mean.

  • Hi Covarian,

The free version of IAR supports compiling the ADuCM355 examples.

Keil has recently transitioned its free version to use Arm Compiler 6, while Arm Compiler 5 is now available only in the licensed version. We are currently evaluating our long-term driver support strategy for Keil.
