Help: EVAL-ADICUP360 Tool Chain with ADUCM360QSPZ don't work!

Hello,

I would use Analog Device EVAL-ADUCM360QSPZ with Eclipse IDE on Windows 7 64-bit, but the ADuCM360-IDE Tool Chain does not work with it istead Keil IDE works very well.
You cannnot use the driver mbed CMSIS-DAP/Serial drivers (for Windows) because the EVAL-ADUCM360QSPZ use a Segger J-Link Lite as interface so you have to use the debug configuration "GDB SEGGER J-Link debug" instead of "GDB debug ApenODC ":

but with this configuration, the debuger gives the errors:

  • Unknown command line parameter of -telnetport found,
  • Unknown command line parameter of 2333 found,
  • Unknown command of Unknow parameter -singlerun found,
  • Unknown command of Unknow parameter -strict found,
  • Unknown command line parameter 0 found,
    and to finish:
  • Error in services launch sequence: Starting J-Link GDB Server timed out.

In Windows XP 32-bit debugging session ends with the same error, but by specifying the error with the message:
Error in services launch sequence
Launching command [
  /JLinkGDBServerCL.exe
-if swd -device ADuCM360
-endian little -speed 1000    (I have tryed with 30 kHz istead of 1000, but the result is the same)
-port 2331
-swoport 2332
-telnetport 2333
-vd
-ir
-localhost 1
-singlerun
-strinc
-timeout 0
-nogui
] failed.

The Segger programs JLinkConfig.exe, JLinkDLLUpdater.exe, JLinkGDBServer.exe, JLinkGDBServerCL.exe, JFlashARM.exe and JLink.exe
communicate and work very well with the EVAL-ADUCM360QSPZ evaluation board.

  • Hi Brandon,Thank for the answer, unfortunately I have to use the evaluation board EVAL-ADuCM360QSPZ becouse I have to use the "emulator board" of this to connect the DEMO-AD5700D2Z card. I'm sorry to not be able to use ADuCM360-Eclipse debugger, but in any case I can use ADuCM360-Eclipse IDE to compile and the J-Link software to flash the code to the daughter board.I do not understand why the Keil ide can use EVAL-ADuCM360QSPZ while it can't be made from the Eclipse IDE-ADuCM360 I think this is just a matter of setting parameters before calling the Segger server.

    Regards,Mario

Help: EVAL-ADICUP360 Tool Chain with ADUCM360QSPZ don't work!

reply from Brandon in ADuCM Eclipse IDE - View the full discussionHi Mario, The post has been moved, so don't worry, we are looking into the question now.  Just for your information, the Eclipse ADuCM360-IDE was designed for the EVAL-ADICUP360, not for the EVAL-ADuCM360QSPZ board.  There are some differences in the board using different hardware debug/programming methods.  You may want to consider looking at using the ADICUP360 board as there are lots of project examples and hardware modules that attach to it.(EVAL-ADICUP360 User Guide   ) Typically Keil or IAR are used with the EVAL-ADuCM360QSPZ board. Regards,Brandon
