Function of gain and offset calibration registers

The data sheet says nothing about how these registers affect conversions. Is the value in the offset register subtracted from ADC results internally? If so, what is the scaling? Results are 24 bits, but the gain and offset registers are 16 bits. Is the gain calibration register used to internally modify the ADC conversions? If so, how? Is there a document that describes the process?

Impedance measurement in EIS

Hi ,

I am working on M355_ECSns_EIS example. For testing , 3 1K ohm resistors where connected in a star network and the resultant impedance shown was 1k in uart. Does this mean the evaluation board measures only one branch of star network ( between SE and star network midpoint) ? When 2K resistor was connected to SE and the midpoint of the star network, the impedance on uart was 2K Ohms. Could someone explain , what impedance ( between which points) is actually measured ?

MAX32520 takes 7 seconds to boot ???

Hi,

So, Im testing the MAX32520 with the EV kit. Once I flash any of the SDK examples i realized that after RESET the time it takes to boot and execute the code in flash takes about 7 seconds!! My guess is because of the Secure boot loader (SBL), maybe it waits in case you want to send commands to the SBL and then after some seconds jumps to the code in flash ? Now, if that's the case, is there any option to disable this so the flash firmware is executed earlier and you don't need to wait almost 7 seconds ??

How to Properly Set Up the Development Environment for ADuC7026

Hello. I’m a college student and I bought the ADUC7026QSZ and connected it to my Windows Optiplex3070. I tried to download the header files necessary for programming, and it worked. I also tried downloading Keil μvision5 and NETframework3.5 from an external site, but I ended up downloading ADUC7026.h from an external site. I am trying to set up a development environment for the ADuC7026 microcontroller using Keil μVision5, but I have encountered several issues:

The Pack Installer in μVision5 does not list any relevant packs for Analog Devices or ADuC7026.
I could not find the “Legacy Device Support” mentioned in the documentation.
I have installed μVision5 correctly and searched for all related resources on the Keil website and Analog Devices website, but the required files (e.g., ADuC7026.h) are still missing.

I would like to know:

How can I properly set up support for ADuC7026 in μVision5?
Is there an alternative way to download the necessary device files or packs?
Do I need to install any specific version of μVision or additional tools to use the ADuC7026?

Any guidance or direct links to the required resources would be greatly appreciated.

Synchronization of the PWM frequency and the Chopper Frequency - How to do it.

Using the Lo side of the PWM,set to fpwm, we need to have six precise higher frequency pulse cycles "windowed" somewhere during the fpwm cycle period. (We have been attempting to do that in the center of the fpwm cycle using the PWMCH0 function to adjust the "window" size)..

The result is what could refer to "jitter" but in actual fact it is a problem because the chopper frequency we set seems to be somewhat "free running" in the background and not synchronized to the fpwm cycles on either edge.

We get six pulses in the window for several cycles of the fpwm and then as the phases depart each other, we get fractured pulses on the ends of the window which are not the same frequency/duration required. Eventually, when the phases re-align, we get the six pulse groups again.

How does one synchronize the two clock rates. At this point in the design, fpwm can be anything in the 5kHz range to 10kHz range. The pulse (chopper) frequency can be also independently selected in the 90kHz range.

We can't be the only ones who have encountered this. Please help. Our need is immediate.

Sychronizing the PWM Clock with the Chopping Clock

We are trying to use the Lo output of the PWM using the duty cycle adjustment PWMCH0 toe "Window" a set of six chopped pulses at a higher frequency. The window forms correctly but the chopped signal goes in and out of phase of the PWM frequency causing a group of good pulses followed by truncated chopper pulses causing the frequency and waveform to be destroyed on the end pulses until the PWM and Chopper Clocks are back in sync again. Is there a way to phase lock or choose frequencies where the clocks stay in phase?

MAX32620 Security - Flash Read out protection

Max32620 - how to secure ( protect ) this MCU against read out flash ? In ram we have several option for disable Jtag (FLC_SECURITY register) . But after power on this settings are cleared. Of course we can prepare in our application set this register and every restart MCU (POR) it be locked again but it is safety option? There is no any other option to protect access to Flash?

USB-I2C/LIN CONV-Z to WinXP/Win10, shows no ADuC70xy USB Combi-Downloader driver installed

When connect USB-I2C/LIN CONV-Z to computer(WinXP / Win10), always shows "The driver for this device is not installed" in device manager.

I have these: 1.USB-I2C/LIN CONV-Z(MCV COMBI DONGLE Rev A); 2.MultiDongleSetup.exe(executed, I2CWSD.exe can run); 3.I2CWSD_7023EvalBoard.zip(I2CFTWSD.exe can run); 4.FT_PROG(CDM20824_Setup.exe, executed);

I refer to: aduc70xy-usb-combi-downloader and aduc7023-program-with-usb-i2c-lin-conv-z, install MultiDongleSetup.exe and use I2CWSD.exe, same problem; And install FT_PROG(CDM20824_Setup.exe) and use I2CFTWSD.exe, same problem.

Hi folks!

Is there any I2C script or guide by which i can achieve PIXEL MODE working successfully? By following the user guide provided by analog devices, i have been successful to get camera access in Tunnel mode. But i am not able to get camera access in Pixel mode.

I am using MAX96717F - 14F.

Hi.

I am using MAX96717F for a task. It worked fine for a week but now suddenly the device is not getting identified by the GMSL SerDes Gui. Although when i configure the CFG Pin, it shows that Serializer Detected.

1: Tried with different firmware (4.55, 4.56, 4.59)

2: Tried with connections (Complete setup, camera to serializer, serializer to deserializer, deserializer to RPi4)

3: Tried without the connection (Only serializer connected by the USB)

4: Tried reninstalling the GUI multiple times. No help!

5: Tried on a different PC. No help!

Stuck here. Unable to understand what can be the issue.

Any help here?

Programming of ADG732

Hi,

I am new to programming a micro controller. I want to sense my 32 photo diodes through this ADG732 switch whose control signal are connected to mBED LPC1768 board. I need to read the output of each cell. For that out put of my MUX (ADG732) is connceted to ADC of mBED LPC1768 board through on I-V converter. Can any one help in programming this board? If any reference also given, it will be useful for me.

ADuC7061 maximum UART baud rate

What is the maximum possible baud rate of the ADuC7061 UART?

The datasheet states that baud_rate = 10.24 MHz / (16 * 2 * DL) or baud_rate = 10.24 MHz / (16 * 2 * DL * (M + N / 2048)) when fractional mode is enabled.

This shows the baud rate generation block diagram:

If DL = 1 then the maximum baud rate would be 320 kbaud / s. Our application would benefit from higher speeds.

What happens if DL = 0? Will the additional division by 16 be disabled, or will the UART simply not function?

We have an evaluation kit we can test this on, but having a definite answer would be very helpful.

ADuC7021 setting SPICON phase prevents boot

I have an ADuC 7021 microprocessor with SPI configured like:

It runs and writes to SPI ok, except the device I am talking to triggers on the rising edge of the clock so I want to switch the phase.
SPICON=0x1047;

But when I do so, the processor locks up.

Is there something else that needs to be changed to allow this to work?

ADuC7061 reset doesn't work

I need solve any EMC problem about a medical device.

This device has a board with 7 ADuC7061.

If the firmware works fine (in any ADuC7061) a led (connected to the pin 26) blinks.

During ESD test to the medical device (contact ESD 8KV) i got this problem:

Sometimes the led is ON fixed (it means the firmware doesn't work) and to pulling the RESET (pin1) to 0V the ADuC7061 remains "locked".

It needs power off or put in download mode for to back to the normal use:

Reading the datasheet:

"There are four kinds of resets: external reset, power-on reset, watchdog reset, and software reset"

I use a external reset.

Anyone can help me?

what does PGA Gain Mismatch Error mean for ADUC7061

in ADUC7061, datasheet shows that the main channel ADC has feature of PGA Gain Mismatch Error(0.1%)

what does the ADC match for?

1. does it mean that different device match different device? for example, 1st device has same gain error with 2nd device within 0.1%.

2. does it mean that different gain math another gain in the same device. for example gainX1/gainX2(ratio) has same gain error with gainX1/gainX4(ratio) within 0.1%.

In CN0338 there are two senor used

Thermocouple and Thermistor

So these two device have different sensitivity.

so how they matched ?

Also thermocouple measure junction temperatures then substrated from thermistor (ambient tablature) right ?

My customer used ADC channel 1, channel 2 and primary ADC to sample. When the analog signal applied to channel 1 changed, the samples on channel 2 also have been changed. The signal is single-ended.

ADuC7124: Temperature sensor sampling queries - low starting point

Hi,

Issue: The first measurement of temperature given an ambient temperature of 22.0 deg C is about 9.5 deg C. After this, the temperature measurement is only slowly increasing, to match a more reasonable temperature. This is over the course of 30 seconds or so. I'm trying to understand why this is. What I do is to let Timer 0 runt at 4 kHz and generate interrupts, to sample 4 channels in total - 2 of these channels are the temperature sensor sampled twice (after each other). Sampling rate per channel is thus 1 kHz. ADC interrupt is enabled, so reading and postprocessing of ADCDAT is carried out as soon as conversion has completed.

The flow for sampling the temperature sensor is as follows:

Do the following for i=0 and i=1:
(Timer 0 interrupt)
ADCCP = 16;
TSCON = 1;
ADCCON = 0x37A3;
ADCCON &= ~(1<<7);
(ADC interrupt)
Val[i] = ADCDAT>>16:
(Postprocessing with Val[i])
if i==1, compute the temperature based on the mean of Val[0] and Val[1].

What is also observed is that Val[0] and Val[1] are between 200 and 500 LSB apart , depending on temperature, with Val[1] being larger. This is always the case.
I have tried adding NOPs after "TSCON = 1;" to add a little delay, but no difference.

I'm also using the TEMPREF register using the guidance of the data sheet. For the board I'm testing on, the MCUs TEMPREF register is 38, corresponding to a VTref of 1.422V.

In short: The temperature measurement seems to be very reasonable as time passes, but am concerned about the differences in Val[0] and Val[1] and the fact that it starts out at a very low temperature and takes a long time to converge. Is this to be expected?

SPI transmission for ADUC7061

It seems that the SPI on the ADuC7xxx is designed for 8-bit transfers only. But there are 4-byte receive and transmit FIFOs.

So if 20bytes data is needed to transmit, will these data be needed to send 4 times?

ARMWSD does not work in Windows 11. Com port cannot be opened.

I want to use ARMWSD on Windows 11 to download my program on ADuC7026 evaluation board. I am using the serial cable provided with the evaluation kit to download the software. On windows 10, there were no problems in using the ARMWSD to download the program but ARMWSD does not seems to work with Windows 11. My setup has had no changes from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I am using a serial to usb adapter whose comport drivers are succesfully installed and can be viewed in the windows device manager as working fine. I also tried to run the ARMWSD in windows compatibility mode but all in vain. Can anyone point me to the right direction how to resolve the issue?
ARMWSD.exe gives an error message about failure to open COM port. While, I checked on other terminal software, the com port was accessible.

Aduc7023 program protect----Urgent case

Hi,

When we are using ADuc7023, it was protected without intention when we are using the GUI.

Could you give some suggestions how to erase or re-program the device ? I tried to force erase the devices , but failed.

We have serval products failed to erase and can't be re-programed. It's very urgent because we have to ship our product to end customer.
