Error in opening connection. Invalid response from firmware.

I tried several times to use SensorPal to connect to the EVAL-ADICUP3029, but it didn't work.

The USB is selected on the three was UART swtich (S2) and the switch S5 is in the "Wall/USB" position.

The Output display shows the following errors:

• Error in opening connection: The semaphore timeout period has expired.
• ChangePort call failure.
• Opening COM port: COM7
• Reading version...
• Error in opening connection. Invalid response from firmware.

Furthermore, it displays me the 'FAIL.TXT' saying 'The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU'. 

I tried to dran and drop the ADICUP3029 Interface file as explained under the section "Maintenance Drive" on this page ADICUP3029 PC/Laptop Drivers [Analog Devices Wiki].

I tried to erase the flash using the CrossCore Serial Flash Programmer but it didn't work.

It just displays me this:
"Sending second stage kernel.
Read Intel HEX application image with 668 bytes.
No autobaud response."

I tried again to update the firmware on the board using SensorPal but I alway get the same error (explained before).
