sine_lut_iq description with default settings

I'm currently running with an fmcomms4-ebz with a zedboard (ad9364 + Xilinx Zync 7000) and I'm trying to setup some IQ Streaming. As a baseline I was hoping to use the included sine wave look up table but there's no description of what the data is/what I should expect. I took the sine_lut_iq values and read the data as 16 bit integers and plotted what should produce a tone 1mhz baseband (using the sampling frequency of 30720000hz pulled from runtime). Is this the expected functionality when cloning down from the repo and using the dam example by defining DAC_DMA_EXAMPLE?

In addition to the first question I noticed that in 2019_R2 the function axi_dac_set_sine_lut was used rather than axi_dac_load_custom_data which is used in the latest master branch to load into memory for the chip to pull from. Is there a suggested path here to get custom data into memory? When running either function using the data from sine_lut_iq I see a clear tone from the local oscillator but nothing else.
