We’re designing Altera mezzanine cards with the ADV7511 and ADV7612 parts. On the ADI reference design, they us fairly large EMI filters on each of the supply lines. These filters are something of a mechanical problem. We’d like to place the regulation on the bottom of the board and use top and bottom ground planes for EMI isolation from the 7511 and 7612 and simply filter each supply line through a PI filter with 10uH inductor in it. Can you check and see if this will be adequate?
The datasheets claim these parts are very sensitive to supply ripple. Should I model my filters?
