Although the chip can operate over a temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C, the linearity of the cold junction temperature sensor is guaranteed only between -40 °C and +90 °C. The built-in sensor for cold junction compensation is optimized for this range. Operation outside -40 °C to +90 °C may be possible, but performance specifications are not guaranteed.
