ADIS16203 communication problems.....

Thread Summary

The user encountered an issue with the 16203 inclinometer chip where the SPI read data returned 0xFFFF. The final answer indicated the issue was resolved offline or through a multi-part answer, and suggested posting a new question if further assistance is needed. The accompanying answer recommended checking scope plots of the SPI signals for timing violations, coding errors, and signal integrity issues.

I use is 16203 measuring inclinometer chip, DSP platform, a 16 bit data, in accordance with manual timing, phase = 1, polarity = 1, through the spi of tilt data read and din input sensor address, but the dout just began to return data is 0xFFFF, now directly to receive the returned data. Do you have may be caused by what reason?

  • Sorry for the delay in our response. Local storms have impeded some of our work.  Would it be possible to show some scope plots of the four SPI signals (on the same screen), which result from your code?  That is normally a simple way to look for violations of timing and coding errors, along with signal integrity issues, such as ringing or other noise sources.
