Need further clarification on the frequency response of the ADXL356.

The spec sheet for the ADXL356 says the internal filter has a 50% response at 1.5k Hz, but the plot shows a gain of .7 at 1.5k Hz. The structure should have a gain of about 1.1 at 1.5k Hz so the total gain should be about .55 at 1.5k Hz. What am I missing or is there an error? Also the internal filter is said to be a sinc3. I assume this means it of the form ((sin(const*freq))/(const*freq))^3. What is the value of the "const"?

  • I was expected to be able to model the frequency response of the device to +/- 20% at 1.5 kHz including all variation due to the output filter and the structure. This does not include scale factor variations. The variations due to the structure at 1.5kHz should be small due to the nominal 5.5 kHz structural response. The dominated factor should be the output filter. I am use to some of your other mems products like the ADXL78 that has a +/- tolerance on the -3 db frequency and assumed this product would be similar.
