ADXRS290 Offset Error

I am sorry about the confusion.  Across the industry, there has been quite a variation of approach on specifying this behavior.  The original author of this datasheet is no longer employed at ADI, but I  think that we can help.  The terms "bias," "null" and "offset" tend to represent the same thing:

• what variation can I expect in its measurement of angular rate, across a given set of conditions and across a population of parts?

Resurrecting this thread. Does "what variation can I expect in its measurement of angular rate, across a given set of conditions and across a population of parts?" mean that:

(a) the output is scaled, and can be off by up to 9 deg/s on either + or - end of the scale (100 deg/s),

or does it mean that

(b) the zero-point (ie no motion) could be read as up to +/- 9 deg/s, but outside of this zero-point-offset, response is ~linear per other specs?

this refers to the offset/bias for the no motion condition. If the offset is +2deg/s, when rotating at +50deg/s, the sensor would read 52deg/s.

At a fixed temperature/humidity/etc, for the same device, does this offset/bias remain consistent? Or, can it change over time?

I ask, because for the application I'm considering this for, the full-scale signal we're interested in is about +/-10 deg/s (even though the device goes to 100 deg/s).

+/-9 deg/s bias is fine, if we can calibrate it out for each device, but will be more challenging to use if the bias changes substantially.

the bias does change with temperature, figures 5 and 8 of the datasheet show the sensor output vs temperature for multiple parts.
