Hi,
I'm currently working on the ADXRS450 Gyroscope and I am concerned about my hardware configuration. In regards to the boost converter, supplying 3.3V to the IC results in 12.5V on CP5, which I believe to be to low . Communicating to the IC believe works as the data I recieve back is a read/write error response. The result is true for supplying 5V aswell, the voltage generated on CP5 is 20V which again is too low. The Diode and Inductor fit the specification mentioned in the data sheet. Are there any other factors that could affect/missed for this voltage step up?
Thanks,
Dyfan
Hi Dyfan,
Are you using a higher value inductor (560uH) for 3.3V operation as noted on page 10 of the datasheet? Even at 5V supply the CP5 voltage is low and this may be due to leakage current. The diode is the primary source of leakage current which has to be kept <70uA.

Venkat
Hi Venkat,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried a 560uH for 3.3V but gives me the 12.5V I previously mentioned. As for the diode I am using a S1A diode which at 25 *c has a reverse leakage current of 5uA which should be fine. I have replaced the diode and inductor incase they had broken but i still get the same result
Cheers,
I am wondering if the part is defective. Do you have more than 1 sample to test?
