how to use adxl377 evaluation board?

Hello there 
 I want to measure the accelerations(impact) on head of the rider during a motorcycle accident. 
 Right now I am trying ADXL377 for the purpose but there is not much difference in the output values when I make an Impact on the the sensor system. I have integrated the sensor with Arduino Mega board. 
 Please help me in using the sensor properly and suggest any other sensor if this model is bot appropriate for the application.
