How can you distinguish between the ADXL345 and ADXL350 via the SPI / I2C Bus?

Question

The DEVID is the same for both the ADXL345 and the ADXL350 according the www.analog.com website datasheets. If I have a board that can be built with either device, how can the controller software via the SPI/I2C interface tell which device resides on the board?
