ADIS16210/PCBZ Connector

Question

I am trying to use the ADIS16210/PCBZ with the ADISUSBZ, but the interface connectors do not match. How do I make this work?

The ADIS16210/PCBZ offers an electrical interface connector, J1, which is compatible with J1 on the ADISUSB . Note that in some cases, J1 has been built with a 16-pin connector, rather than the 12-pin connector. This was not intentional but is simple to address, using one of two options: 
 
 Build or order a compatible 16-pin ribbon cable, then use it to connect pin J1-pin1 on the ADIS16210/PCBZ to J1-pin1 on the ADISUSB. One example of this would be the TCSD-08-2.00-1, from Samtec ( www.samtec.com/TCSD ). TIP: They offer free online sample ordering at www.samtec.com/samples 
 Cut pins 13-16 off of the J1 on the ADISUSB , and use the 12-pin ribbon cable that comes with the ADISUSB . TIP: Use Figure 24, on page 17 of the ADIS16210 datasheet for the pin number assignments and use Figure 4, on page 4 of the ADISUSB User Guide (UG-363) for additional reference. Remember, measure twice, cut once!
