Hello,
I am using the ADXL327BCPZ and have a question regarding operation above the specified maximum operating temperature of 85 °C.
The datasheet specifies:
Operating temperature up to 85 °C
Absolute maximum (powered) up to 125 °C
My question is about behavior when the device is operated slightly above 85 °C (e.g., up to ~95 °C):
Does the sensor continue to function with degraded accuracy (e.g., increased offset and sensitivity drift)?
Or can the output lose its meaningful relationship to acceleration entirely?
In my application, high precision is not required. I only need to detect approximately 0.5 g±0.1 g0.5g±0.1g on the Z-axis. Under normal conditions, I use:
Vout=Vs/2+sensitivity⋅aVout=Vs/2+sensitivity⋅a
If the temperature exceeds 85 °C, is it reasonable to expect that:
The sensitivity and offset may drift significantly, but
The output still qualitatively tracks acceleration (i.e., higher acceleration → higher output)?
Or should operation above 85 °C be considered unreliable even for coarse measurements?
