Dear,
I am a developer and I am looking for 3 axis SPI output accelerometer.
our customer required operating temperature -50 to +80 degree
In the datasheet the operating temperature -40 to 125 degree.
so, I have questions.
if we this sensor at -50 degree, If the sensor is used at -50 degrees, how much does the performance change?
Also, is it possible to use it at -50 degrees by changing the coating or packing?
Or is there perhaps another way??
Hello Yunalee thanks for posting.
Generally speaking we do not do any characterization work under -40C or any other temp. out of DS specified range. Thus, I can not specify in a deterministic way how much the performance will be degraded. I would expect to exceed the typ/max values for at least bias, tempco, sensitivity or clock timing, on top of added issues physical issues as thermomechanical stress in the packaging or long-term degradation.
I must also remark that since you would we working out of DS specs ADI does not support or guarantee operation under those conditions.
On the other hand, I would check if this other part meets your requirements : ADXL345-EP (Rev. B) since its working temperature range actually goes down to -55C.
hope this helps,
Mario SM
Thank you for your reply.
By any chance, can the EP product be applied to other parts as well?
Where can I check this?Hello Yunalee sure, I would advice you to contact our local sales team in Korea in order to study this request with the right Marketing stakeholders.
Once you have reached our sales team you could privately share some more details of your application and needs so we can further help you use our products.
have a great one,
Mario SM
