raw data、FACTORY CALIBRATION

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: ADIS16495-2, ADIS16495

Hi sir

We have some questions to ask about ADIS16945-2

1. Whether ADIS16945-2 can read the original data (the counter value before correction, as shown in the red circle in the figure below)

2. After factory calibration, are there relevant reports or use international standards to verify the calibration results (accuracy of three-axis acceleration, angular velocity, and magnetism)

Hi Justin:

For the ADIS16495, the data available through the SPI interface is already calibrated and processed through the internal signal chain. The device applies factory calibration, which includes compensation for sensitivity, bias, alignment, and other factors before storing the data in the output registers.
As described in the datasheet, the gyroscope and accelerometer data you read from the respective registers (e.g., X_GYRO_OUT, Y_GYRO_OUT, Z_GYRO_OUT, X_ACCL_OUT, Y_ACCL_OUT, Z_ACCL_OUT) are post-calibration values. The device does not provide direct access to the uncalibrated (raw) sensor data before these corrections are applied.

Let me get back to you for your second question.

  • Thanks for the explanation

Let me ask you again about ADIS16495
About the parameters marked in the Datasheet
ARW, BI, Scale factor linearity, Full scale range, Bandwidth
How is ADI measured? Which standard specification is it based on (ISOxxxx)?

Our IMU calibration systems at ADI are entirely custom-built in-house, from hardware to software, leveraging our proprietary methodologies. These systems adhere to ADI's stringent internal quality controls and best practices, designed to meet the rigorous demands of automotive, medical, industrial, aerospace, and various other applications. While we consistently strive to improve and refine our processes, our unique approach to calibration is a key factor that sets our products apart from the competition
