ADXL355 temperature sensor output at 25C: 1852 or 1885 LSB?

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADXL355

ADXL355 data sheet Rev A states "TEMPERATURE SENSOR Output at 25°C 1852 LSB"

www.analog.com/.../adxl354_355.pdf

and data sheet Rev B states "TEMPERATURE SENSOR Output at 25°C 1885 LSB"

www.analog.com/.../adxl354_adxl355.pdf

Which one is correct?

Does it depend on what revision of ADXL355 part I have?

Thanks, Ari

Hi

The value in data sheet Rev B is correct, and it doesn't depend on the part's revision.

Mohammad

  • Thanks Mohammad,

I'd still like to double check am I getting the right temperature reading from ADXL355.

I soldered thermocouple to ADXL355 Vss pin (see the pic). In steady room temperature (19.2C) TC measured 19.2C and at the same time ADXL355 was reporting 24.7C. ADXL355 was in "measurement mode" all the time and it had reached equilibrium state where it was not warming up.

Is 5 .5 centigrade temperature difference reasonable? I understand my measurement setup with TC is not exactly "state of art"...

    Cheers,

    Ari

    Hi

After consulting with our engineering team, we determined that the standard deviation for the temperature sensor's typical output at 25°C is 27LSB. So, it seems that your temperature reading from ADXL355 is reasonable.
