What are the units of data captured by the EVAL-ADIS-FX3

Thread Summary

The user asked about the units of gyro data recorded from the ADIS16470 IMU using the EVAL-ADIS-FX3Z card and the iSensor FX3 Eval application. The support engineer confirmed that the EVAL-ADIS-FX3Z supports the ADIS16470 and provided steps to select the device in the application, ensuring all registers and features are available. The units of the gyro data (Z_GYRO_OUT) are not explicitly mentioned in the thread, but the application's data plotting feature can be used to record and visualize the gyro values.

Hello,

I want to use the EVAL-ADIS-FX3Z card to record the gyro data of the IMU ADIS16470.

I recorded in a file the gyro values thanks to the tab "Data Plotting" of the application iSensor FX3 Eval.

However I can't find the documentation that would indicate the units of these data.

For example here I record the Z output of my gyro:

I don't know the unit of Z_GYRO_OUT.

I also did not find any information about the yellow scale here.

If there is any documentation that I haven't found, I'm interested!

Thanks in advance,

Dimitri Sigg

  • Hi Dimitri,

Thank you for your interest in the ADIS16470 and the EVAL-ADIS-FX3.

The short answer is yes, the EVAL-ADIS-FX3 actually supports all of our IMU products.

Once you connect the ADIS16470/PCBZ to the EVAL-ADIS-FX3Z and then launch the iSensor GUI, you will click here to select the device:

    Then,

    1. Select the ADIS1647x in the Product Family dropdown menu
    2. Select the ADIS16470 in the Model dropdown menu
    3. Click on Apply Device Selection

After that, all of the registers and applicable features will be available to you. Here is the data plotting feature.

    I hope that this helps!
