ADcmXL3021 FFT Data is zero

Hi,

When I'm doing a FFT Record with the Vibration Evaluation Software (Version 2.1.8.), I only get two non-zero values, usually the first two and the other 2046 samples are zeroes. This is with Manual FFT, AVG_CNT = 0 and FFT_AVG = 1, so with a 220k SPS sample rate and no averaging.

From working with the ADIS16228 I always experienced a basic noise, very small values all over the spectrum. With the ADcmXL3021 it's always 0 LSB, so 0.9535 mg. Is this the correct way it's supposed to work?

I've added a screenshot of the Evaluation Software showing this behaviour.

Higher Average Settings usually result in more non-zero samples in the lower samples / lower part of the spectum, though most values are still zeroes.

Does it perhaps have anything to do with some sort of noise filtering or the autonull feature?

I'd much appreciate any input & help and hope someone has any insight into this.

Best regards,

Jannik
