ADXRS652 external LPF

  1. Does RateOut output a constant voltage or a constant current? If it outputs a constant voltage, why does adding a resistor between the RateOut and SUMJ pins increase the measurement range?
  2. The datasheet states that an external RC LPF of 3.3kOhm and 0.022uF is recommended to filter out demodulation spikes, on top of the LPF of the 180kOhm internal resistor and the Cout capacitor. But if the non-external LPF of the 180kOhm capacitor and Cout is supposed to be 2kHz as the datasheet suggests, Cout must be 442pF. Wouldn’t the current draw by the external LPF's capacitor change the parameters of the internal LPF because the current draw from a 0.022uF capacitor would be much greater than that of a 442pF capacitor? If so, how do I add an external LPF that doesn’t disrupt the parameters of the internal one?
