LTC5800 Leakage on Inputs

Question

The LTC5800 pin functions table in the datasheet has some exception notes for specific pins. 
 
 Note 14 states "These inputs are always enabled and must be driven or pulled to a valid state to avoid leakage." 
 Can someone from ADI provide more information? Is there a preferred pull direction to minimize leakage current - high or low?

Hi Jim, 
 It is recommended to keep these pins in either pull-up or pull-down state to avoid leakage currents because a floating pin is highly susceptible to picking up noise, which can lead to leakage currents.
