Layout for radar operation on MAX2828/MAX2829

Hello everyone,

is anyone able to tell me if I would be able to make the MAX2828/MAX2829 do radar work on the 5 GHz band? I realize the purpose of this circuit but assuming I am not switching between modes but using independent control of the transmitter and receiver paths, am I able to detect a wave reflected from an obstacle and reprocess it? Let's say we are talking about a distance of several meters. If not, do you know of any freely available circuits that would be better suited for this?
