Subject: Issue with LO Frequency Configuration for MCS Enabled and Disabled Profiles in ADRV9002

Category: Software
Product Number: adrv9002

Question:

I am currently working with the ADRV9002 transceiver and have encountered a specific issue related to the LO frequency configuration when generating profiles.

  • Scenario 1 (MCS Enabled): When I generate a profile with Multi-Chip Synchronization (MCS) enabled, the system automatically sets the LO frequencies to fixed values (Rx = 2400000000 Hz, Tx = 2450000000 Hz). It does not allow me to modify these values.
  • Scenario 2 (MCS Disabled): When I generate a profile with MCS disabled, the system automatically sets the LO frequencies to fixed values (Rx = 2400000000 Hz, Tx = 2450000000 Hz). I am able to freely configure and modify the LO frequencies.

Could you clarify the following:

  1. Why does enabling MCS restrict the ability to change LO frequencies?
  2. Is this behavior expected due to certain hardware or synchronization constraints? If so, could you provide technical details on why this limitation exists?
  3. Is there any way to enable LO frequency modification while keeping MCS enabled? For instance, are there specific conditions or steps I should follow to achieve this?
