Overlay description of sound IC for raspberry pi

Hello.
I would like to connect a sound IC such as the ADAU7002/7118 to the Raspberry Pi 3 and record with ALSA software.

I can see a description of Devicetree-overlay in the Linux driver link of these ICs, but it seems that the actual DTS file needs nodes like "sound" and "i2s" as shown in the most examples like below.
https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/linux/blob/rpi-4.19.y/arch/arm/boot/dts/overlays/adau7002-simple-overlay.dts
https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/blob/rpi-4.4.y/arch/arm/boot/dts/overlays/adau1977-adc-overlay.dts

Is there any information about what these nodes are, and how to describe them in the DTS file of the sound IC?
I searched for this information in the ADI Linux driver site, but couldn't find it.
Thank you.
