Kernel panic when booting PetaLinux ADI kernel on ZCU102

Hello,

I am having trouble booting a PetaLinux image on a system consisting of a Xilinx ZCU102 and AD-FMCOMMS3. ADI Linux kernel 4.14 (as external source) and meta-adi Yocto layers were used in PetaLinux build process. PetaLinux version is 2018.3. Hardware design was generated by Simulink.

Synchronous external abort occurs right after ad9361_probe. However, this does not happen with the reference HDL design. Any help is appreciated.

  • In the project generated by Simulink there is no axi_sysid_0 node hence PetaLinux throws the error

    | FATAL ERROR: Syntax error parsing input tree
    so I removed the line
    /delete-node/ &axi_sysid_0;
    from pl-delete-nodes-zynqmp-zcu102-rev10-ad9361-fmcomms2-3.dtsi but this time kernel panic occurs. I don't know what to do about this.

    Well, you don't have to remove that line - you should update it accordingly to your setup.

    Since you get the PC is at axi_sysid_probe message, it seems that a sysid entry is still present in your devicetree - it should be removed.
