Booting kernel hangs on unsupported board.

I'm trying to get an FMCOMMS3 running on an unsupported platform from another party. I had to adjust the ADI HDL for the difference in pinout, and build a custom u-Boot using the Xilinx u-Boot tool. The boot hangs at the "Starting kernel ..." message, but spits out a bunch of stuff I wasn't able to find useful information on prior to that. Most of the solutions I have been able to find for problems like this are about configuring tty correctly, but since I'm using the ADI image and device tree I don't think that would be a problem. Any thoughts on what might cause this would be appreciated.
