AD9208 on ZCU102, linux problems

Hi there,

We are trying to get linux up running on zcu102 rev1.1 with an AD9208-3000 evaluation board, however the ad9208 is not recognized on linux with the iio_info command and we get some errors at boot.

Just to be sure that we did everything correctly I'll sum up what we did.

First we compiled the ad9208 hdl project from the ad9208 branch at https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/hdl. No errors here and we are able to get, among the other files, the required system_top.hdf.

Then, following the guide at https://wiki.analog.com/resources/eval/user-guides/ad-fmcomms2-ebz/software/linux/zynqmp, we have cloned the dev_ad9208 branch at https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/linux/.

Instead of running 

make adi_zynqmp_defconfig

we manually launched

make menuconfig

 and turned on the option for the ad9208 under industrial io support, Analog to digital converters that was unchecked. Then we make the image and everything goes smoothly.

Then we make the dtb file using the  zynqmp-zcu102-rev10-ad9208.dts. This is then renamed to system.dtb.

Finally we use the  build_zynqmp_boot_bin.sh script with the system_top.hdf we generated before, the u-boot.elf is the one we extract from the 2018_R1-2018_06_26 image while the bl31.elf is downloaded by the script.

After burning the 2018_R1-2018_06_26 on the sd we copied all the generated files in the root directory.

The ZCU102 boots into linux and this is the full dmesg:

In fact the iio_info does not recognizes the ad9208 but shows only 3 devices:  iio:device0: ad7940 (which should be on the AD9208-3000 evaluation board ), iio:device1: ams and  iio_sysfs_trigger.

However, the system seems to recognize at least the spi connection with the ad9208.
