We're using ADN4695E in a point-to-point topology with a 100Ω termination at line end.
ADN4695E datasheet says "Supported bus loads: 30 Ω to 55 Ω".
But we're not sure if it's for a multi-point bus, as AD4695E is suitable for, or if it applies also for point-to-point topology.
Is there any problem in using a 100Ω termination with ADN4695E as transceivers of a point-to-point bus?
Thanks.
Hi Luiz,
The ADN4695E can be used in both point-to-point and multi-point bus topologies.
The 30 Ω to 55 Ω is used to characterize performance in a system with more than one termination resistor.
For example, with two 100 Ω termination resistors, the total impedance seen by a driver will be 50 Ω.
The ADN4695E is typically used in a multi-point system with more than one termination resistor, but it can also be used in a point-to-point system with just one 100 Ω termination resistor.
Best Regards,
Richard
