Q
If I don’t use the ADuM3190/4190 as an isolated error amplifier, what is the
gain of the output?
A
The ADuM3190 has two amplifier outputs. Let’s assume the operational amplifier
has been set for a gain of one to the COMP output. Then the EAOUT output has a
gain of one from the COMP output to the EAOUT. The second output, EAOUT2 has a
gain of 2.6 from EAOUT to EAOUT2.
Since the internal circuits run off 3.0V regulators, EAOUT can output less than
3V. The second output EAOUT2 has a higher gain by design to give up to 5V
output using a pull-up resistor to an external supply.
