Question
Why is there a minimum power on slew rate of 400V/ms specified in page 5 of
ADuM5230 datasheet
and not on other isopower parts?
Answer
The minimum slew rate in the isoPower is because of an issue with starting up
voltage references. If the input power ramped too slowly the voltage reference
didn’t initialize properly and the part would not come out of UVLO. That would
mean no voltage on the secondary. This issue has been fixed on most of the
ADuM5xxx and ADuM6xxx parts already and will be fixed in the ADuM5230 in the
next couple of months. This is why the minimum start up slew rate has been
removed from the datasheets on most of the other isoPower parts but it is still
present on ADuM5230.
