When the MAX96705 is used in coax mode, the unused output OUT- must be terminated to AVDD through a 50Ω resistor. In the figure below, the termination resistor is circled in blue. Use at least a 1/16W, 0402 resistor. With AVDD = 1.8V, a short to ground will pull ~36mA through that resistor. While it is unlikely that the output will short to ground, it is good to be safe. OUT- is biased at 1.4V nominally, and the differential swing will drag that voltage below 1.2V in most cases. This is within the operating range of a 1/16W resistor.
