How do I select a transformer to use with the MAX14949 isolated RS-485/RS-422 transceiver?
The datasheet has a section on page 14 called "Transformer Selection" that lays out the requirements for choosing an adequate transformer. On page 15, Table 1 shows a list of recommended transformers. This list only serves as a suggestion. You can use a transformer that is not on the list as long as it adheres to the specifications in the "Transformer Selection" section.
