FAQ What are the conditions of valid VIDEO_LOCK or VID_LOCK?

For a video pipe’s GMSL2 VID_LOCK signal to be asserted, the video pipe must continuously receive at least 16 valid video packets within a moving time window.

A video pipe’s video packet detector counts the number of received valid video packets using a 4-bit counter. On the 16th count, it rolls over to 0 and continues counting up again. Every time it rolls over, it restarts the time window.

If the valid video packet count fails to reach a minimum count of 16 before the end of the time window (0.109 or 10.101ms), the VID_LOCK signal will be de-asserted.
