The MAX9291 serializer and the MAX9288 deserializer are compatible with each other. The serializer datasheet has a detailed explanation for passing digital data into the packets sent over the high-speed GMSL1 link, and the deserializer has a detailed explanation for how it extracts the data from the packets and places them in the output interface.
All GMSL1 serializers are compatible with all GMSL1 deserializers for all features (and bandwidths) included in both devices. If there are features supported by only one device, its datasheet will explain how to configure those features to ensure compatibility with other GMSL1 devices.
