FAQ Can a single hardware design support both GMSL1 and GMSL2 operation?

A single design can meet requirements for both GMSL1 and GMSL2 operation if some very simple rules are followed:

  1. The system must meet the GMSL1 or GMSL2 channel specification.
  2. The GMSL link AC-coupling capacitors must be no smaller than 100nF/220nF if GMSL1 high immunity mode is/is not used.
  3. If PoC is used, the PoC network must be designed to work with all GMSL operating modes that may be used in the system.
