Hello
Our customer will use ADN4695 and evaluates this.
Then , the measured differential output voltage of driver is about 1.6Vpeak to peak (Y-Z) at 50ohm load ( using two 100 ohm termination).
The customer asks us if value of 1.6Vpeak to peak is abnormal value
because datasheet table2 specification says that |VOD| is 480mV~ 650mV.
Does |VOD| mean absolute valute of Y-Z voltage ?
Datasheet P10 figure 16 Figure 16 ” ADN4690E Driver Output Eye Pattern” describes that |A-B| is ~1.2V and this value is not 480mV~650mV.
Please let me know your advice what |VOD| means and
please let me know your adviceif the differential output voltage of 1.6Vpeak to peak. is abnormal.

Terumasa
Hi Terumasa-san,
Yes, |Vod| means the absolute value of Y-Z. So 650mV means either +650 mV, or -650 mV for the extreme of Y-Z (i.e. the peak-to-peak will be 1.3V). The typical performance characteristic, Figure 16 in the datasheet that you mention, has |Vod| of ~530 mV, or 1.06V peak to peak output swing.
1.6 V peak to peak seems high. Could you post an oscilloscope plot of the output waveform, and a schematic or photo of the board being used for the testing? Alternatively please send a PM if the customer doesn't wish to post the information on here.
It seems like the output load would need to be somehow not as much a load as 50 Ohm, or else the measurement is including ringing or something to cause the larger voltage to be measured.

Hello Conal,
Thank you for your answer.
I would like to send a E-mail with waveform and circuit desing.
Could you teach me your E-mail address ?
I would like to send E-mail from below message but I do not your E-mail address .
"please send a PM if the customer doesn't wish to post the information on here"
Please let me know your E-mail address.
I close this thread because I ask Conal by e-mail
