ADuM6201 EMC testing failed, noise, BT communication jammed

Our new devices failed at EMC testing because the ADuM6201 isolation IC produced above the max. level noise and jammed the BT communication. The other problem was the IC's high temperature during operation. The device is a medical one and we have to lower the level of the noise and temperature.

What would be your advice, or could you offer a similar product that would be a better solution (size is of importance only smaller once are applicable)?

Thanks for your answer

  • TZsolt: I have some questions in order to assist you:

    1. Can you give the EMC test standard that you are testing the ADuM6201 to?

    2. What was the frequency and amplitude of the noise and include a waveform?

    3. Please explain further what you mean when you say "IC produced above the max. level noise and jammed the BT communication".

    4. Can you share the schematic and layout so I can review and advise about noise and temperature.  If you want to share these privately, let me know and we can do this by email.

    5. To consider other products, can you tell me the certification standard and isolation voltage required?

    Regards, Brian

  • Dear Brian,

I collected all of this information that you asked, but I would like to continue in this case as private.

Please send me an e-mail: zstobi@sanatmetal.hu
