Hello,

The customer ask about ADuM5230 datasheet description about clearance and creepage value on Table 4.

This value seems shorter than package size. Is these clearance/creepage value correct?

It is not same for example ADuM7234 case as below..

Below ADuM7234 datasheet shows almost same value between table 3 clearance/creepage and package size.

Hello Sofy,

The creepage and clearance numbers in the ADuM5230 datasheet are correct. There are two side tabs that are at the same potential as the secondary side regions, so the creepage/clearance distances go from the side tabs to the closest pin on the primary side region.

Yes, this is basically correct. Don't forget that the other tab distance must also be subtracted, as that path doesn't count towards the creepage/clearance. On most of our iCoupler parts, the side tabs are electrically isolated from the internal die paddles, but for this particular product, the paddles had to be tied to the side tabs.
