Hello,
Our customer wants to know ADM3054 can meet the CAN FD required or not?
And about CAN FD communication protocol, including static and dynamic parameters,
what kind of CAN PHY specification should be fully meet the CAN FD required?
Is just TxD-to-RxD Propagation Delay < 255ns and Complies with ISO 11898 standard can meet the CAN FD required,
or need more parameters should meet the required?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Sam
CAN-FD does have additional requirements for compliance to this new standard, although Classic CAN nodes such at those using ADM3054 may be compatible.
To implement CAN-FD using ADI transceivers, we recommend the newly released ADM3055E, which has integrated isolated DC-DC as well as an isolated CAN-FD transceiver supporting data rates up to 12 Mbps (beyond the 5 Mbps maximum speed of CAN-FD today) with an extremely low maximum loop delay of 150 ns (supporting longer distances even at 1 Mbps). The transceiver integrates level 4 IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection (8kV contact/15 kV air discharge). Information on other CAN-FD products in the family will be available soon, with a demo at Electronica 2018 (Building Automation: Connecting, Isolating and Extending).
