Is it possible to make an Optically isolated plus a Loop Power HART-RS232 Modem?

I came across a loop powered HART modem

http://www.analog.com/static/imported-files/circuit_notes/CN0267.pdf

Also I came across An Isolated HART modem

http://www.analog.com/en/circuits-from-the-lab/CN0321/vc.html

Is it possible to combine the two of them so that we do not Need external Power , also the communication remains isolated?

    Hi patelvijay12007,

In relation to the interface between the loop and the HART modem figure 27 of the AD5700/AD5700-1 datasheet may be of use to you (there is additional information on this circuit in the datasheet as well):

In terms of the HART software stack, CN0267 only implements command 0 which is a simple command that confirms the presence of working HART device. If you do not have a HART stack, to develop or purchase a full HART stack you'd need to work through the HART Communication Foundation where a list of HART stack providers is also available.

In terms of RS232 transciever, the ADM3101E or ADM101E may be a good option for your application.

    Regards,

    Derrick
