Hi all,
I try to use a "74LS125" bus Quad 3-STATE Buffer Chip to shift the signal from 3.3V to
TTL level (5.0), but the signal does not shift to 5.0 Volt.
I connect the following pins on the chip (add. supply voltage)
--- CS of SPI ------> PIN 1
---- from ADIS1625 ---> PIN 2
<-- to MicroController---< PIN3
Wiki says about Logic level: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logic_level
Technology | L voltage | H voltage | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
CMOS | 0 V to VDD/2 | VDD/2 to VDD | VDD = supply voltage |
TTL | 0 V to 0.8 V | 2 V to VCC | VCC = 5 V ±10% |
ECL | VEE to −1.4 V | −1.2 V to 0 V | VEE is about −5.2 V; VCC=Ground |
The chip 74LS125 has a "HIGH Level Input Voltage" of 2.0V which should be fine, but it does not
work.
Need help!
Best regards
Ritchie
Hello Ritchie,
I cannot comment on the product you have mentioned above, but a functional equivalent would be the ADG3304. This will allow you to translate a 3.3V to 5V signal.
There are single, quad and octal versions of these level translators:

The ADG330x devices are our active devices that can translate up to 5V.

Sean
Thank you, Sean!

Thanks,
I will try to get such a IC.
