Working on a design for a customer who wants absolutely minimized inductance to the decoupling caps. VCC (Pin 1) is relatively distant from GND (Pin 8) but is tightly paired with EP, which we are also tying to GND. Does EP provide a good electrical GND connection to the die? A previous post said EP is good for heatsinking but did not say if it's actually an electrical connection.
