What are voltage threshold in HTL mode (current source off)?

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: MAX22196

Hi

For MAX22196, if CNFGx register is configured with CURRx[1:0]=00 (current source off) , what are voltage threshold on input? I don't find its in datasheet. Table 1 shows that HIHTR don't care. Are they different if CURRx[1:0]=11.

In my application, REGEN is short to ground, V24=24V, VA=3.3V and REFDI=12k.

Thanks for your help.

  • Hello,

My apologies for the delayed response on this.

I can see how the don't care (X) label is a bit misleading in this case.  While the status of the HITHR bit is not required to set the mode to high-impedance or HTL (CURR_ = 00) , it is still required to set the thresholds, as outlined in the datasheet. You need to set the SOURCE and HITHR bits for a given channel to set the threshold, as shown in the EC table on pages 5-6.

Setting the CURR_ bits to 11 will put the input channel into TTL mode.  The TTL thresholds are also shown in the EC table.

    Thank you,

    Shasta
