Hi,
My customer is considering the ADuM6028.
Could you please tell me about the output current of the ADuM6028 isolated power supply?
On page 3, Table 2 of the data sheet, it says,
"Output Supply Current1 IISO (MAX) 60mA," but is
60mA the effective value or the peak value?

The absolute maximum rating is 60mA, and in the "THERMAL ANALYSIS" section on D/S p.18 it says that 60mA is possible at full load,
so which should I observe?

Hi Naohisa,
The ADuM6028 is rated to a maximum output power of 300mW / 60mA.
Operation above this is not recommended as per the absolute maximum ratings section of the datasheet.

Hi,
Tommy
I measured the output current at pin 6 (VISO) of the ADuM6028-5BRIZ.
The results were as follows:
・Effective value: 55mA
・Peak value: 219mA
The peak value is 219mA, but the effective value is 55mA, which satisfies the absolute maximum rating of 60mA or less, so is this okay?
If there is a problem, please tell me how to reduce the inrush current.
The design includes 0.1μF and 10μF capacitors between VISO and GNDISO, and the wiring and patterns are in the recommended layout.

Best Regards,
Naohisa
