EVAL-AD74413R-DIOZ schematic nomenclature

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: MAX14906

Hello.

I have been reading the documentation about the MAX14906 and the schematic of the EVAL-AD74413R-DIOZ. In that schematic, some wires have 2 parallel lines on their sides. For example the attached picture is from page 4 of document 02_072507 (EVAL-AD74413R-DIOZ schematic) where those lines appear on lines AGND_SENSE, STAR_AGND1 STAR_AGND2, STAR_AGND3 and STAR_AGND4. What do those 2 parallel lines on the wires mean?

Thank you very much in advance

  • Hi,

GND, AGND_SENSE, STAR_AGND1, STAR_AGND2, STAR_AGND3 and STAR_AGND4 are all connected together via a single point on the PCB. This single connection point is AGND_SENSE located next to AGND_SENSE pin of U1, which is next to AVDD of U1. This is to ensure that various AGND ground return path is connected back to U1 using dedicated trace, so the field side noise wouldn't impact the other parts of the PCB.

The parallel line symbol indicates the short between the nets.

    Thanks,
