Does max96705 support sleep and remote wakeup?

Thread Summary

The user inquires about using I2C to control the sleep and wake-up modes of a MAX96705 serializer in a system with a MIPI camera sensor, aiming to reduce power consumption and heat. The final answer directs the user to Analog Devices' technical support pages for further assistance, without providing a direct solution to the sleep mode issue.

Hi,

We have an application to extend MIPI signal from a camera to 4~6 feet away. We are currently testing FPD-link from Ti, but that solution does not support a sleep mode and generate a lot of heat on the camera side.

Our system architecture is CPU  <-  MIPI+I2C  <-  Deserialzier  <-  Serializer  <-  Sensor

The sensor does not work all the time, and we can put sensor into sleep mode to reduce power consumption and heat generation when idle. However, the FPD-link Serializer can not sleep and consumes a lot of energy.

The datasheet of max96705 and some application note mention the sleep and remote wake up briefly without much detail. Is it possible to use I2C on the Deserialzier side to put Serializer into sleep, and use I2C on the Deserialzier side to wake it up again?

Of so, we would start to evaluate using GMSL in our application.
